Discussion:
[OU] Fitting with 10.51

Now on Windows 10.51, I find that Talkingpointsmemo.com still does
not fit on my screen. This changed with 10.50 such that only the left
hand column of the three columns appears. The rest of the columns
appear lower down, taking much scrolling down to show up. It works
fine with Chrome.

A while back some others here noted that TPM loaded slowly with
10.50, but that they had no other problems like I do.

Is there some parm that I should be changing within my site
preferences to fix this?

Thanks,
Bart

Looks OK here (laptop, Vista HP, IDing as Opera). There's nothing in
any column except the leftmost after the list of Research Interns,
but I have the impression that's the way it should be. Looks the same
in FF, but FF loads much more slowly.

Hi Guys,

I checked this site and if you use the Click the Fit to Width BUTTON
it will help you solve your screen layout problems.

I hope this helps you....;)

I tried it here (10.51, Windows 7 x64) and it seems to be caused by "Fit
to width" option. I think that problem is at the TPM side, simply said
that their layout is "not dynamic enough".

Anyway, I see the same problem when I turn FTW on.

To turn it on/off, choose "Fit to width" from the "View (100%)" menu in
the bottom right corner of Opera's main window.

Thanks,
Al.

Thanks to all. It's odd - no matter what my Fit to Width setting is
for the first unsatisfactory load, if I reverse it the site looks like
it should. If I close that tab and reload TPM, I need to change the
setting, no matter where the setting was when the tab was closed upon
a good load.

I get exactly the same if I have "Fit to width" set. With that not set it shows correctly here, albeit slightly wider than my display.

Thanks,

When you have your screen resolution at 1280 wide it looks perfectly fine
with both Fit To Width turned off and on. The layout gets a little screwy
with FTW turned on though, as the "MUST READS" pictures get jumbled around,
but I see everything fine. Changing the window size smaller results in
everything being down the left side.

Thanks, David. I have a 15" wide plasma screen and had it set to 1024
x 768, which always seemed OK to me. But I will try to remember the
effect of that setting. If I go to 1280 the text is not that good for
my old eyes.
