Recently changed to Opera 10.50.
I have emails with photos attached which I received early February which
were perfectly visible when I received them. I received another with
photos in march but the photo cannot be seen. I checked the earlier photos
and they cannot now be seen.
Nor can I save them to a folder. It goes thru the normal saving procedure
but nothing is saved.
If I try to view them with a viewer I get:-
c:\users\myname\appdata\local\opera\cache\sesn\opr00001.tmpsen\ (+ 12
subfolders) and "can't read file header".
If I try to view them with opera I get a small box with "image" in it.
I tried to send a file with an attachment to myself from opera and it
worked perfectly but with the attachment forming part of the body of the
email.
Where in the profile are attachments saved?

Two possibilities that you could check:

(1) I don't know if this will help, but have you checked whether "Block
External Elements" is turned on? With the email open, click on the View
button on the email toolbar, then go down to Display and several options,
including "Block External Elements", will be displayed. For me, this was
causing emails with linked graphics to display only the text. If your
photos are embedded in the email, this won't help.

(2) Have you checked that "Show Images" is selected in the View popup menu
at the right-hand end of the status bar? There are three choices - Show
images, Cached images, and No images. This will affect embedded images.

Regarding saving - are you getting a drop-down list of attachments in the
email heading (just under the

Hi David,

You might think about doing a Opera Repair install again and see if it
sorts out the troubles !

Still cannot get the attachments to work.
Exported the message concerned to Thunderbird whereupon the jpg files
showed up ok.
Tried sending the email back to opera, no good
Tried composing a similar email sending to my mailbox, received ok with
Thunderbird, no good with Opera. Opera states can't find jpg file (in
profiles temp download folder).
Presume some setting is wrong.

If I remember correctly this is a bug in 10.50, the recent 10.51 RC fixed
this. Since it is already in RC stages it should be out soon.
