And I found it rather confusing a while back when I discovered Opera had hid
settings files in
- Documents&Settings/userprofile/Application Data/Opera
AND
- Documents&Settings/userprofile/Local Settings/Opera (which is a
normally HIDDEN folder!)
Hidden folders presuppose a sysop or sysadmin somewhere, having the sole right to change
settings, user profile, et c. Meaning a sysop/sysadmin who *knows* he or she is a
sysop/sysadmin, not a user who has been set up with admin rights, but doesn't know that
admin functionality has been hidden for the sake of "simplification". I suggest that both
Opera and a certain operative system producer not take such persons for granted.

It's not simple or easy for a user to handle such an operative system or program, it is
only made to *seem* easy. The difference is crippling at times.

You all are speaking about 10.50. I am on 10.10 and when I go to Help
- Check for Updates it tells me I am on the current version. What
gives?

10.50 is currently only available for Windows. If you're using Mac or
Linux, 10.10 is the current version.

10.50 for Windows was released early to be included in the new browser
choice option of Windows 7.

I've been using Opera for nearly 10 years now, and mine has never told me
there is a newer version available when I check for updates.

Thanks, David. Now I see this week that Secunia PSI is flagging Opera
as needing to update.
