[OU] Video on Opera, Wand

I am currently using Opera Version 10.53, Build 3374 on a PC with Windows XP
Professional SP3 and have a couple of problems.

(1) I find I cannot watch most videos - they do not seem to load. For example:

and
<
>

Curiously this one does work:

Some produce rows of squares (unrecognized characters?) such as:

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, please.

All these can be viewed without problems using Google Chrome and worked properly
on my previous version of Opera.

The other problem is that the wand (which is now a key) seems to have lost all
my stored passwords.

Can anyone help with this, too, please?

This works OK for me (10.54 snapshot, b3386), Vista HP

This one doesn't, but I have somehow managed to find a solution (in
fact I'm exceedingly pleased with myself about it!), which is hit
Ctrl-F12 (or, of course, click Tools, Preferences), then go to
Advanced, select Contents or Fonts (and maybe others - I haven't
tried any others), then hit Enter and miraculously the picture
appears! But as I say, I am running Vista HP. (On an Asus laptop.)

This works fine with the trick I outlined above.

Nothing. It's Opera...

Sorry, I seem to have been spared this.

Unfortunately this did not work for me :-(

I have a suspicion that the Flash Player is not working in my copy of Opera
Version 10.53, Build 3374 on a PC with Windows XP Professional SP3

I realise the problem has now disappeared, but I only just looked at the
links in this post. I can't comment on the others (they all work fine
here), but the reason the Constable one worked when the others didn't is
that it's an animated gif, not a video. The others all require Flash,
whereas an animated gif displays like any other image would.

May be, but I suspect something got screwed up on my PC and leaving it switched
off at the mains overnight gave it a chance to boot up correctly? It is still
working this morning.

Thank you for your interest.

Best wishes

John,
I have the exact system configuration as you. All three of your problem links work fine here, so your problem appears to be specific to your settings and not Opera or the webpages. Not enough of a techie to suggest any experiments to you.
