[OU] O in task tray

Assuming I'm right in thinking the task tray is the bit at extreme
bottom right, is there some way of preventing Opera from putting a
red O there when it's loaded? It's completely superfluous and (I
suspect, though it seems unlikely) may have something to do with a
bug I've found which frequently causes a tab, on being closed, not to
close completely. That is, I'm left with literally half a tab, and
the program hangs. I can still close it down but I then have to close
the Process down in the task manager.

I have an idea that when I first installed 10.50 (I'm now running
10.51 build 3315, which is very satisfactory except for this problem)
I was asked if I wanted that icon there and I left it on, which was
the default.

Hello Harry!

I do not know anything about your "half-tab" bug, but there is a way to
get rid of the tray icon:

You just need to invoke Opera executable with an extra parameter
/notrayicon, something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Opera\opera.exe" /notrayicon

(You might want to edit link you normally use -- it's possible via
right-click and Properties.0

Anyway, I also doubt that this setting could cause such serious bug. Did
you try, for example, turning on/off cache? Did the bug ever happen with
Private tab? Does it happen with any content?

Thanks,
Al.

Thanks Al, I should be able to manage that!

Me too, really.

No, that hadn't occurred to me.

Did the bug ever happen with
Private tab?
I've only used a Private tab once, and that was by accident!

Does it happen with any content?
Apparently, yes, I think so.
